SD County Fair says “Likkle More” to Reggae?

Notice something different about this year’s Grandstand line-up at the San Diego County Fair?

No reggae, what-so-ever, click here to read about the fiasco that happened last summer.

No more puff, puff, pass at the Fair.

I’m investigating and will follow up with another blog and San Diego Union-Tribune story link.

Yellow Like Sun

The Jamaican flag colors are yellow, green and black. The yellow represents, “a symbol of sunshine and natural resources.” It’s not surprising that Winston Foster chose “Yellowman”, as his dancehall dee-jay name.

His energy and stamina never fades and yes, sometimes his skin tone can appear to be red, pale white and yellow — he’s albinistic.

Yellowman performed hits such as “Zungguzungguguzungguzeng” and “Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt,” which made him the first dancehall artist to be signed to a US major record label, CBS Records, which is now Sony Music Entertainment.

King Yellomwan, his moniker, is known for his sexually explicit lyrics and boastings of what he can do in the bedroom — always emulated on stage. So I’m going to the Belly Up and see if he stays true to his words.

Meet me at the BUT, 9 pm Tuesday, June 9. $20/$22.
